Garden Shears

Its funny how we become attached to small things.
With all the broken things that hard work brings.
Special garden tools that have been in his hands.
Left to us by a loving father that understands.
Whenever we use them we remember how he cared.
For plants and shrubs that were under his care.

He gave us his garden shears by Wilkinson Sword.
Before he left us to be with the Lord.
When trying to sharpen, the bushing I did break.
How bad I felt for the loss, my mistake.
As I searched for the right part to replace.
I took to the Internet a search to embrace.

To my surprise they were made by Fiskars Americas.
There were others available but most were replicas.
Nothing would replace the original that held such attachment.
Made a repair with a washer and some adjustment.
To give to our daughter, something from her grandfather.
I miss those shears even though not a gardener.

Surprise in the mail when from work I arrive.
To find out that a reputable company did survive.
A new pair of pruners with a lifetime warranty.
Thank you Linda Turner, I will work more cautiously.
Not often you find companies that respond so quick.
This is one that I would suggest you pick.
