Coosawattee

Coosawattee where have you been?
Down the mountain and around the bend.

Where did you get all that mud?
Did the Ellijay or Cartecay flood?

What happen to your white water?
Was it that big dam on lake Carter?

Where did all the Indians go?
Did we march them west for your gold?

Though your shorter keep on flowing.
We want to know where you are going.

Your so deep where have you been?
Will you ever go down again?

Who was it that made you flood?
Was it Ellijay or Cartecay bringing mud?

Where's the town with your name?
Under lake Carter, oh what a shame.

Your fish traps are still in place.
And a foot bridge spans over the space.

Many cabins now line your shores.
Where Indians once hunted by the score.
